Your Home Energy Checkup
A comprehensive, customized, energy-saving plan just for you.
When you schedule your Home Energy Checkup, a specially trained Energy Ambassador will do a thorough checkup of your home’s heating and cooling systems, insulation, and appliances. The Energy Ambassador will also install products that will help you start saving energy immediately. It's all about giving you the knowledge you need to make your home more energy efficient.
Free Energy‑Saving Products Included
Your Home Energy Checkup comes with FREE energy‑saving products (over $100 value) to help lower your energy use and improve comfort at home. Products may include:
- Up to 20 LED light bulbs
- Up to two (2) nightlights
- Up to two (2) efficient‑flow showerheads
- Up to three (3) efficient‑flow faucet aerators
- Up to three (3) advanced power strips
- Door sweep / weather stripping
- Outlet gaskets
- Pipe wrap
*Income‑qualified customers may also be eligible to receive a free refrigerator
Choose Your Home Energy Checkup Type
The checkup takes approximately 60-90 minutes, depending on the size of your home.
In‑Home Checkup
An Energy Ambassador will visit your home and safely install your energy‑saving products during the visit. Spray foam, the advanced power strip, and outlet gaskets will be provided for easy self‑installation.
Virtual Checkup
An Energy Ambassador will call or FaceTime you to complete your checkup. All eligible energy‑saving products will then be shipped to you at no cost. If you need help installing your products, give us a call—we’re happy to help.

Eligibility Requirements
To participate, you must:
- Be a current PNM customer
- Have not completed a Home Energy Checkup in the last 10 years
Live in a single-family home or apartment complex with four units or fewer.
To be eligible for rebates:
- Qualified equipment must be installed within the PNM service territory and at the address where the PNM Home Energy Checkup was completed within the last 10 years
- Qualifying equipment must be installed by a participating contractor
